Our story
Waterkloof Farm
Willie and Annina, owners of Waterkloof Farm are 2 veterinarians, who were born and raised in different cities in South Africa, but always had the desire to live on a farm. Their shared love for nature, the veld, garden, animals and sport led them to each other.
Together they pursued their dream of being farmers and veterinarians. Willie’s father, Willem Delport, an attorney from Port Elizabeth, a Springbok Rugby Player and Member of Parliament, had the same desire and bought WATERKLOOF when Willie was 9 years old.
The name, Waterkloof, was paying tribute to the natural spring that forms the lifeline of the farm. Together they dreamed of developing the farm and shared many wonderful times by farming with Angora goats, riding horses like Cowboys and being part of nature, away from the city buzz. Unfortunately he passed away in 1984. That's when Willie & Annina moved to the farm permanently, fulfilling their dream!

The farm was still very undeveloped, but together they poured their energy into developing it into a place and home where they raised their four children and loved sharing this passion for nature with many people from all over the world. Being farmers and veterinarians in a remote rural area was full of challenges, and many James Herriot or Diddly-Squat-stories are often told around the braai fire under African skies!!
Although the children are now in different parts of the world, they always long to come back to the farm to, as they say, recharge their batteries before going back to their corporate or medical worlds. These visits to the farm have kept them a very close-knit family. Their rooms were left with all the memories of childhood days. This realisation led Annina to the desire to extend this opportuinty to many other people of restoring and reviving their energy and holistic wellness. ThIs was how and why the idea of Natural Retreats at Waterkloof was born. People from far & wide are invited to share this family home and experience the same joy!
We hope that this will become a haven for many more where they can breathe in the fresh air and relax completely in this place of love and divine tranquility.
Keurboomstrand
Although the farm is the Delport family’s heartplace, even farmers need to take a break and there is no better place than Keurboomstrand for them! Keurboomstrand, 10 km from Plettenberg Bay overlooks probably the most beautiful Ocean Bay in South Africa – we believe the most beautiful in the world!
As a child, Willie’s family always spent their summer holidays at Keurboomstrand. Annina’s family also travelled from Pretoria to Plettenberg every summer to enjoy their school holidays at Plettenberg Bay. Both have wonderful memories of this beautiful and special spot in South Africa.
The couple tried many other holiday destinations but, eventually, were sure that there was no other place along the coast with the same wondrous feeling and experience. They found their ideal plot and built another dream home. Once again, they would like to share this magnificent part of creation with those seeking a beautiful place to rejuvenate.

Annina decided to make this special place available for health & wellness retreats. Her wish is that this brings joy to many more people!
